Artist Statement
I am an Empath. I have taken an Empathetic journey through art. I use color as an expression of emotion. I survive this overly intense world by creating a decoding system using color. Each interaction I have becomes a colorful abstract piece in my head. Once created, I can access that piece and re-experience emotion with rationality, love, hope and kindness.
My process and style represents the emotional freedom art can bring.
A Gardener’s Freedom Through Art:
Growing up in the mid west I only thought I would see mountains in books. College gave me hope I would be able to see them in person.
After getting my Bachelors of Science in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin – Stout, I headed straight west.
Once here I spent years hiking, biking, and enjoying those mountains that are so special. I also had the opportunity to be a teacher for several school districts, finally landing in Hillsboro OR, as a High School Art teacher.
After teaching for a few years I stayed home with my two kids for 12 years. During that time I practiced and perfected my methods. What you see here is a lifetime of passion for making joy and beauty. I now hope to bring that to people through my art and on line tutorials.
